Downtown Seattle Street Photography - Seattle Public Library Definitive Guide

It all begins with an idea.

Downtown Seattle is full of wonderful sights to see and loads of unique perspectives to capture some beautiful imagery. With towering buildings scraping the sky perched against the calmness of Puget Sound, it can be daunting to choose a single location to stay and take your camera for a spin.

This is the beginning of the Downtown Seattle Street Photo Guides to help you streamline this process. The first installment will be about the Seattle Public Library. It’s one of the most remarkable buildings sitting in the downtown core that you can visit for free and roam the halls that the architect Rem Koolhaas has designed.

This beast of a building has 11 floors total that have winding escalators through colorful floors and the main elevator that can transport you easily throughout the chambers.

The first floor that you can access from the 4th ave contains some good views. There’s a secret spot that I used near the entrance to the children’s center between a mirror and a golden wall to take some interesting portraits that incorporate reflections.
